What is the Camtech E-Commerce Merchant Server?

The Camtech E-Commerce Merchant Server is a technology that allows an Internet enabled merchant to process secure payment transactions over the Internet. Payments are authorised and acquired in real time via the Australian banking network.

How does it work?

The Camtech E-Commerce Merchant Server operates in the following way:

  1. A person decides to purchase a product from Olly's Online Wines. They fill in their credit card details at the checkout and click submit.


  2. Their details are protected by SSL security.


  3. The secured transaction is submitted to the Camtech Payment Gateway where the authorisation of the credit card is requested from the relevant bank.


  4. Approval or decline response is transferred to Olly's Wines by the Payment Gateway. Olly can then complete the sale.

Thanks to the Camtech Merchant Server the entire transaction above will occur in real time, with the majority of transactions only taking a few minutes from beginning to end and not involving the merchant directly at all.

The Camtech Merchant Server allows for a broad range of retail opportunities by accepting Visa, MasterCard, BankCard, Diners, AMEX and JCB cards.

Who's using the Camtech Merchant Server?

Over two thirds of all merchants processing real time Internet credit card payments in Australia are using the Camtech payment system. More than 500 merchants are "live" today.
